I’ve sat on both sides of the conversation: making decisions in local government and helping clients make their case.
My 27 years in local government included serving as a council leader, holding the adult social care portfolio and spending six years chairing a planning committee. Since then, I have worked with clients in the built environment for more than a decade.
For many years, I served as a Lead Peer for the Local Government Association, contributing to council peer reviews and improvement work, and mentoring councillors in leadership roles.
I also stood for Parliament in Nottingham North in 2010, giving me first-hand experience of parliamentary campaigning and political communication.
That combination gives me a practical understanding of political priorities, community concerns and the pressures on people making decisions. I use it to help clients communicate with clarity and purpose.
I also produce independent political analysis through Change from the Centre, contribute regularly to radio and bring experience of television interviews and commentary.
